The J.N.T. Sports Welfare Foundation (formerly J.N.T. Organisation) embarked on its journey in 1983, honoring the legacy of Late Pt. Jagat Narain Tiwari, a dedicated social activist and passionate cricket enthusiast. Beyond his social contributions, he had a deep love for the game and was committed to nurturing young talent. Using his resources, he worked tirelessly to promote cricket among children in Kanpur, organizing tournaments that instilled discipline and competitiveness in aspiring players.
After his passing, his admirers and followers took it upon themselves to carry forward his vision, ensuring his dream of fostering young cricketers lived on. Over time, J.N.T. Sports Welfare Foundation expanded its reach across Uttar Pradesh, becoming a well-respected name in the state for organizing interstate cricket tournaments across various age groups.
Late Pt J.N.Tiwari
J.N.T. Sports Welfare Foundation owes its growth and guiding spirit to Shri Jyoti Bajpai Ji, a visionary leader and mentor whose legacy continues to inspire us. A respected cricket administrator, Shri Bajpai Ji served as Joint Secretary and Treasurer of the BCCI, and held key positions in the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) for several years. He was instrumental in shaping the cricketing landscape of Uttar Pradesh and also served as Manager of the Indian Team during the 2003 ICC World Cup. Beyond his official stature, Shri Bajpai Ji always stood firmly with our organisation—offering his support, wisdom, and encouragement in every way possible. His unwavering belief in our mission and constant guidance made him a true pillar of strength for the Foundation. We remain committed to carrying forward his vision of nurturing young talent and strengthening grassroots cricket with integrity and dedication.
Established in 1989, the J.N.T. Award has grown to become the most prestigious honor bestowed upon two of our state's most outstanding, promising, and upcoming young cricketers, recognizing their exceptional recent performances.
